Maxvel's fileshare data collection and privacy practices

Below is the list of personal data that we store.

We reserve the right to review and amend any of this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion. Upon doing so, we will update this page. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will take effect immediately from the date of publication.

👤 Registration

We store the following information when you register an account:

Email address
Username
Hashed password (argon2)
The date your account was created
Your hashed IP address, using HMAC (This is only stored on registration, to prevent duplicate accounts)

🔐 Authentication

We store the following information when you log in:

The current date

📁 File Uploads

We store the following information when you upload a file:

The file itself
The SHA256 hash of the file
Date that the file was uploaded
The original filename
The size of the uploaded file
The User-Agent that was used to upload the file
The user that uploaded the file
Once a file is uploaded you can only remove it from your device history

🔗 URL Shortening

We store the following information when you visit a URL shortened by us:

Your hashed IP address, using HMAC for unique clicks tracking

📧 Email Forwarding

We store the following information when we receive an email to forward:

The email it was sent from
The subject of the email
The destination of the email

🚨 File Reports

We store the following information when you report a file:

The ID of what you reported
Your email address
Your IP address, hashed using HMAC with SHA256
The date you reported the file
The reason you reported the file

🤖 Discord Integration

We provide extra functionality to our users by linking their accounts to Discord. When you link your Discord account, the following information is stored:

The user's Discord ID
The user's Discord username
The user's Discord avatar

☁️ Third-Party Services

We use a well-known service: Cloudflare to provide DDoS mitigation and protection. This means all requests you make to the website will pass through Cloudflare, who collect a limited set of data in order to provide analytics and perform mitigation actions.
